  • found this while cleaning...

    crumpled up and creased, i found a piece of paper in a box full of nothing from the garage. ive never read this one by frost before, but it's as if God wanted me to read it today. the thing is, no matter what i will forget everything in the end. all that lasts is what i did for eternity. this poem reminds me of the temporal, insignificant things i worry about in this world. that they ultimately mean nothing.

    WARNING
    by Robert Frost

    The day will come when you will cease to know,
    The heart will cease to tell you; sadder yet,
    Tho you say o'er and o'er what once you knew,
    You will forget, you will forget

    There is no memory for what is true
    The heart once silent. Well may you regret,
    Cry out upon it, that you have known all
    But to forget, but to forget

    Blame no one but yourself for this, lost soul!
    I feared it would be so that day we met
    Long since, and you were changed. And I said then,
    He will forget, he will forget.

  • Isaiah 46

     3 "Listen to me, O house of Jacob,
           all you who remain of the house of Israel,
           you whom I have upheld since you were conceived,
           and have carried since your birth.

     4 Even to your old age and gray hairs
           I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
           I have made you and I will carry you;
           I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

     5 "To whom will you compare me or count me equal?
           To whom will you liken me that we may be compared?

     6 Some pour out gold from their bags
           and weigh out silver on the scales;
           they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god,
           and they bow down and worship it.

     7 They lift it to their shoulders and carry it;
           they set it up in its place, and there it stands.
           From that spot it cannot move.
           Though one cries out to it, it does not answer;
           it cannot save him from his troubles.

     8 "Remember this, fix it in mind,
           take it to heart, you rebels.

     9 Remember the former things, those of long ago;
           I am God, and there is no other;
           I am God, and there is none like me.

  • has it really been 2 months?

    so im back. i would have written if china hadnt blocked xanga.

    ive missed writing here. or maybe i miss something that i used to do. or my writing is evolving into something else. when do you know when youve outgrown something--a person, a club, a group, parents, a school, a subject, an idea, a belief, a desire...i dont know. or maybe some of us never outgrow anything...and is that a good thing?

    what's funny is that now that ive been gone so long, it's easier to feel free to do something else. maybe that's how life goes. im sure that it is.

    but with writing, it's got to be more than sharing a life. or is that what it's really about?

    i think im just tired tonite.
